To James Agnew   19 February 1875

19/2/75

When returning last night from a Departmental journey into our forest-ranges, dear Dr Agnew, I found that my only assistant1 had suddenly fallen ill, almost immediately after I left. Thus the copying of my manuscript has been only about half completed, and the rest can only go to you by the next post.2

Very regardfully

Ferd. von Mueller.

Can you kindly tell me, what will become of poor Mr Archers collections?3

Georg Luehmann.
See M to J. Agnew, 14 February 1875.
William Archer had died on 14 October 1874.
