In working on Chaetospora to day, dear Mr Abbott, I have found that Dr. Hookers name of Chaetospora capillacea will have to be changed, in as much as a good species from South Africa received precisely that name by Nees von Esenbeck long before Dr. Hooker published his Tasmanian species.1 The name of the latter I propose to change in Chaetospora capillaris, and I should feel obliged, if you will make the necessary alteration in the Census2 list with the following quotation F.M.fragm. IX, 30.3
