To George Bentham   17 May 1875

Mt Gellibrand

17/5/75

Allow me to ask you, dear Mr Bentham, whether according to your new researches DC's Fischera, established in 1813 holds good among Asclepiadeae.1 The occurence of a Hermannia in Central Australia may interest you.2 The discovery of a Monotoca, with opposite leaves is also remarkable.3 At last the fruit of Amphibolis zosterifolia is also found: Carpidia duo libera minuta Stylus tenuis longiusculus apicem versus bifurcus.4

I have also now the ripe fruits of Zostera Tasmanica. The plant is smaller than Z. marina and, I think, the fruit different.

I have again a few new plants from Mr Giles, which will appear in the 75th number of the fragmenta.5

At last I have been able also, to discriminate the two Tarrietias from fuller material, than we first had.6

You will see this in the number sent by this post7

Let me hope, that you are quite well.

With deep regard

Ferd. von Mueller
