From Ferdinand von Mueller to Joseph Decaisne   6 Sep 1875

Melbourne

6/9/75.

By the Ship Essex, most esteemed friend, I have forwarded to my London Agents (Mess. Blackith & Co.) Cox's Quay, Lower Thames Street) about 450 Museum plants for you. The collection contains many rarities from North East Australia. Should you or the illustrious Brogniart1 recognize among the new plants any, which you may have from the Sunda-Islands or New Caledonia, then I should be grateful to receive your information on them. I am now continuing to arrange the supplemental collections of my Museum, & shall therefore be able to send you further contributions.

The present sending comprises many Sapindaceae, Rutaceae, Proteaceae, Gramineae &c.

I have simultaneously forwarded the last volume of the Fragmenta.2

With profound regards

Ferd. von Mueller.

Distribution of vol. 8 of Fragmenta was approved on 14 May 1875 (see notes to M to W. Odgers, 20 April 1875).
