From Ferdinand von Mueller to William Tietkens   5 Mar 1876

Melbourne

5/3/76.

One of the most interesting of the new plants of the last expedition, dear Mr Tietkens, I have named in honor of you. You collected many, so I know; but it is difficult for me to record the real finders.1 Perhaps you will be out some day yourself as an important explorer & collect then for yourself.

Always your regardful

Ferd von Mueller

Aotus tietkensii attributed by M in B76.03.01, p. 33, to Young and Tietkens as collectors at Victoria Spring, WA, during Ernest Giles's successful journey of exploration from the Overland Telegraph Line to Perth, WA.
