From Ferdinand von Mueller to Alphonse de Candolle   7 Aug 1876

Melbourne 7/8/76.

It affords me much pleasure, honored and venerable friend, to send you herewith the unexpanded flowers of some species of Ripogonum; and if in the progress of your important researches I can at any time furnish material, then pray command my services unhesitatingly.1

I have been much harrassed for some time, but hope to get soon ready the plants, which according to your letter of the 22 Sept. 1875, you desired for the Monographies.

With regardful remembrance.

Ferd. von Mueller

Ripogonum

Candolle was working on A. de Candolle (1878); M's specimens from the de Candolle and other European herbaria are frequently quoted.
