To Joseph Hooker1    28 November 1876

28/11/76.

I herewith send you, dear Dr Hooker, a few freshly ripened grains of Limosella Curdieana, which might easily be raised like L. aquatica. Doubtless it could be naturalizedin England; but the living plant at Kew would be interesting for comparisons.

I see, that you adopted the very fair plan, to count the specimens contributed in the course of the year to the Kew collections of dried plants.2 I like of course to make as good a show as I can with my yet oppressed Department; so I should wish much, that I get credit also for what is kept by Mr Bentham for Kew from my collections, sent for his use for vol. VII of the flora.3 This must be considerable also as regards Liliaceae, Glumaceae & Ferns.

Regardfully always your

Ferd. von Mueller.
