To Clement Wragge   24 August 1877

24/8/77

Let me thank you for your interesting photograms, dear Mr Wragge. It requires to know that both cards belong to you. It is kind of you to offer to dry plants for me, should you ever visit a locality in the backregions of India, known not to have been visited by botanists or collectors,1 then pick up any plant, and send the parcels by post, the specimens closely packed and reduced to small flowering & fruiting branches, as advised in the enclosed circular.2 Your honored name would of course be quoted along with the plants, in publications emanating therefrom.

Regardfully

Ferd. von Mueller.

Best compl. to Mr Ingleby

Presumably Wragge, who was in SA at this time, had indicated to M that he was thinking of going to India.
