On board of the "Assam",1 New year 1878.

 

I send you, dear Mr Bentham, a few notes, written here as supplemental to vol. VII,2 so far as I could hitherto furnish them from the proofsheets. I suppose, that you like to keep the Kew copy and your own copy complete.3

As soon as I have arranged my notes of this last journey and revised the specimens, I will write to you on the results of this journey, chiefly important phytogeographically.
