Allow me to ask you, dear and venerable M. Boissier, whether you could mention to me the principal fodder-herbs and nutritive grasses (4) of the pasturage of the Orient.
I am eager to issue a new edition of my select plants, of which work assuredly a copy exists in Genève,1 in this new edition2 I like to include any important utilitarian plants of your grand "Flora orientalis",3 which I may have omitted in the early issue of my work.
You will have observed, that I give due credit to any one, who favors me with notes. I fancy, that many of the Astragali Trifolii &c are there of highly pastoral value
Let me hope, that young Mons. Boissier is making good progress with his monography of Epilobium.4
With regardful remembrance

Boissier (1867-88). The first three volumes of this work and the first part of the fourth volume were in print by 1878.
An error for Boissier's son-in-law William Barbey who published an atlas of 25 plates illustrating Epilobium (Barbey (1885))?
