From Frederick Bailey to Ferdinand von Mueller   27 Sep 1878

[Sent Baron Mueller 2 new? species of Eucalypt one closely allied to E. eximia. The other so near an Angophora that I recommend the Baron to call it if indeed new E. angophorides1 but as the flowers have not been seen it may yet turn out an Angophora. The trunk has large quantities of liquid gum like E. corymbosa]

Angophora

Eucalyptus angophorides

Eucalyptus corymbosa

Eucalyptus eximia

No description of Eucalyptus angophorides by M has been found. R. T. Baker described a species under that name in Baker (1901), p. 676, but this may not refer to the same taxon as Bailey's plant.
