The name is an error for ‘S. M. Curl’: see membership list in Transactions and Proceedings of the New Zealand Institute, vol. 9, 1876, p. li. A series of articles in the Transactionsis similarly signed.
Curl’s details completed and form signed by M; other supporters’ autograph signatures. It is not known when M prepared the form or when it was signed by Woolls and Fitzgerald, but it was presumably early in 1879, and the item is numbered accordingly.
