From Ferdinand von Mueller to the Agricultural and Horticultural Society of India   [Feb 1879]

I will send you more seeds of Festuca dives, as soon as they are ripe again; also I will try to obtain for you the seeds of Araucaria Cookii, but in the present state of trouble in New Caledonia, it may not be possible to get them readily. I am glad that the Indian Government, through the action of Sir Andrew Clarke, intends to republish my "select plants."1 A copy with extensive additional notes will go to Calcutta by this post. The work ought to be of very great use to the whole of Upper India, and ought to serve also particularly the Indian Forest Department.

The demand for the seed is very great in such an extensive country as Australia.’
