From Ferdinand von Mueller to Karl Staiger   28 Apr 1879

28/4/79.

28/4/79

With the ship Wotonga I am sending you, dear fellow countryman, at last a gift in return for your Ceratodus, consisting of fishes from Port Phillip Bay. Perhaps your Museum already has most of these species, but in such a case the specimens will come in use to you for exchange in India, or perhaps elsewhere.

Kindly tell me how far this consigment covers the value of yours, so that I do not remain in your debt.1

Regardfully yours

Ferd. von Mueller

MS annotation by Staiger: 'To mention in answer in how far the fishes sent cover the gift of Museum. Not yet received K. T. St.'
