[A letter from Sir Ferd. von Mueller in which he expressed his thanks to the Society for the congratulations that were expressed to him on the part of the Society1 and requested information when the next meeting would take place.]2
Presumably the congratulations were prompted by the news that M had been appointed KCMG; see Queen Victoria To M, 24 May 1879.
