To William Odgers1    8 June 1879

In accordance with the wish of Consul Playfair, a collection of samples of Eucalyptus-seeds, comprising 13 of the best timber species correctly named, is forwarded herewith, in order that the principal kinds, recommended in the reports from this colony (including also a former document of my own) may be raised under Consul Playfairs care for a normal collection, to which I can subsequently contribute as occasion arises.
