From Ferdinand von Mueller to John Baker   31 July 1879

31./7/79.

This specimen of your Trichomanes Vitiensis1 dear Mr Baker, may interest you as coming from a new locality, the first in New South Wales.2 Let me offer my felicitation to your well earned election into the R.S.3

Your works proceed with an amazing rapidity, and yield a rich enveyable harvest always of novelties. But you enjoy opportunities, such as only at Kew are to be found, and which cannot reoccur in the next generation.

Always your

Ferd. von Mueller
