Mit dieser Monats-Post erlaube ich mir, edler Herr, Ihnen Mr John Forrest's neue Vermessungs-Karte des Nickol-Bai-Districts vorzulegen, auf welcher dieser berühmte Geograph Ihnen eine Berghöhe gewidmet hat, und zwar auf meinen besonders ausgesprochenen Wunsch. Allerdings ist dies nur eine unbedeutende Gabe aus dem fernen Australlande; es bleibt aber doch immerhin eine dauernde, so lange die gegenwärtige Schöpfungs Epoche bestehen wird.
Nehmen Sie also, hochverehrter Herr Geheimrath, diesen kleinen Tribut freundlichst hin.

With this month's mail I venture, noble Sir, to submit to you Mr John Forrest's new survey map of the Nickol Bay district, on which this celebrated geographer has dedicated a mountain height to you,1 and in fact at my particular expressed request. Admittedly this is only an insignificant gift from the far south land; but all the same it does remain a lasting one as long as the present creation epoch will exist.
Therefore accept most kindly, highly respected Privy Counsellor, this small tribute.
