From Ferdinand von Mueller to John Buchanan   18 Sep 1879

18/9/79

This day, dear Mr Buchanan,1 I had a visit from Capt Rowan,2 who incidentally told me, that you had issued a volume of lithograms of N. Z. grasses.3 If so, would you spare me kindly a copy? Tell me, what you have of my works, so that I can send you any available yet, wanting there. Did you do anything with the Carex, which Prof Kirk4 thought graminous.

Regardfully

Ferd. von Mueller

Can Prof Kirk, to whom I wish to be kindly remembered, not give any information on the Water-plant of your Rivers with flowers like Hydropeltis peltata,5 so that good specimens might be obtained in flower & ripe fruit & leaves
