In May 1879, Brown submitted a printed 'annual report', his first since taking up his appointment as SA's Conservator of Forests the previous September, to the Forest Board of SA, which adopted it and agreed to forward it, together with its own report, to the responsible Minister, the Commissioner of Crown Lands (see the Board's report, Adelaide observer, 2 August 1879, p. 10). However, no copy of Brown's report has been found.
B79.13.11 includes four Decades, the first published about June 1879 and the other three by December.
Letter not found. M's letter was recorded as having been read at a meeting of the Forest Board of SA held on 13 October 1879 and is thus dated to October 1879.
