6/4/80
Herrn Moritz Holtze.
Port Darwin.

After careful examination I see, dear fellow countryman, that your grass No. 4 is Panicum gibbosum R. Br. in a very fine and slender form. Nr. 13 is Ipomoea angustifolia Jacquin.1
Your Pittosporum will probably be my P. melanospermum,2 but only the fruit can determine this. I advise you to distribute seeds of this beautiful little tree. I surmise that the flowers are probably perfumed?
This letter had been mislaid; but I am sending it belatedly.
With best wishes for your welfare,
Ferd. von Mueller.
Ipomoea angustifolia
Panicum gibbosum
Pittosporum melanospermum
