Würden Sie die Freundlichkeit haben, lieber Herr Tepper, mir zu sagen, ob, nach Ihren vielseitigen Erfahrungen, Sie die Buprestis Käfer der Nahrung wegen an Eucalypten schwärmen sehen? u in diesem Falle ist es der Honignectar der Blüthen oder sonst etwas, das diese Käfer zehren?

Would you have the kindness, dear Mr Tepper, to tell me, according to your extensive experience, whether you see the Buprestis beetle swarming on eucalypts on account of the food and in this case is it the honey nectar of the flowers or something else that these beetles feed on?

MS annotation by Tepper: 'Reply 11.4.80 with paper on habits of large Stigm. [i.e. the Buprestid beetle Stigmodera] on Mallee'. Letter not found. Tepper (1878) mentions a species of the beetle among those increasing on Eucalypts, but it does not address the specific questions M asked. Tepper (1878a) is a paper on a swarming beetle defoliating Eucalypts, but that concerns a Scarab, not a Buprestid.
