Ich danke Ihnen, lieber Herr Tepper, für Ihre Notiz über die Stigmaderen.1 Der 2t. Theil der "native plants" wird erscheinen, sobald die langwierige u kostspielige Arbeit der Holzschnitte vollendet ist; es sind 50-60 dazu nötig.

Stigmoderen?
Stigmoderae. M to O. Tepper, 6 April 1880 (in this edition as 80-04-06a) asked about beetle swarms. Tepper's annotation indicates that he had sent a copy of his paper 'on habits of large Stigm. on Mallee'. Tepper (1878) mentions Stigmodera, a genus in the beetle family Buprestidae, with some species feeding on Mallee Eucalyptus species decreasing in number, and another increasing. No other paper meeting the description has been found.
