From Ferdinand von Mueller to John Shillinglaw   20 May 1880

20/5/80

Shall be glad, dear Mr Shillinglaw, to spend an evening with you some day soon & enjoy your enlightened conversation & hospitality.

Will furnish you for your book with a note on R Brown, also on the genus Flindersia, of which R Brown named 2 species, one being from Amboina.1 To these I added eight others, all but one from East Australia, the exceptional one from New Guinea2

Regardfully

Ferd von Mueller.

Flindersia

Species described by M are listed in Muir (1979). The Australian species were named in various numbers of M's Fragmenta; see APNI for details. Flindersia papuana was named in B72.02.01, p. 84.
