From John Brown   14 June 1880

Forest Board Office,

Adelaide, 14/6/80.

Dear Sir Ferdinand,

I am now in a position to give you the information asked for in your favor dated "Easter"1 regarding Kangaroo Island.2

Following are the names and addresses of three parties who might be induced for a moderate payment to gather specimens for you on the Island:— Mr. Buick, American River — Mr. Paris, Kingscote, and Mr. Damer, Cygnet River.

There is a mail boat from Port Adelaide to the Island every fortnight.

There are no hotels on the Island, but good accommodation can always be had at the Station where you would always be welcomed.

If I can be of any further use to you in this matter, please command my services.

I think I have found your E. Cosmophylla at last. By this mail I send you rough specimen, and if you find it is the species you want I will forward you a nicely dried specimen with piece of wood &c. &c.

I am

Dear Sir Ferdd

Yours very truly

J. E. Brown
