To Robert Ramsay   21 June 1880

Melbourne,

21/6/80.

To the honorable Rob. Ramsay, M.L.A.,

Chief Secretary.

Sir.

I have the honor to inform you, that the Government of New South Wales desires to reissue my work on "select plants for industrial culture and naturalisation" for use in that colony, as was done under sanction of your honorable predecessor for the Indian Central Government.1 I have therefore now to beg, that you will be pleased to permit the reprint of the work in Sydney. It is almost unnecessary to add, that I have no financial interest in this reissue.2

I have the honor to be,

Sir,

your obedient servant

Ferd. von Mueller.

B80.13.07.
Ramsay approved M's suggestion on 30 June 1880. The next day, 1 July, M sent the file back marked: 'Returned with best thanks'. The NSW edition appeared as B81.13.10.
