MS annotation: '£125'. See H. Sheffield to M, 6 April 1881 (in this edition as 81-04-06a), and the notes thereto. It would appear that M himself paid for both the Rothschild and Fischer collections and was subsequently reimbursed by the Library, since at a meeting of the Library Committee on 28 June his account for £175 was passed for payment; see State Library of Victoria, Trustees of the Public Library, Gallery and Museum, Minutes, vol. 13a (MSF12855).
