24/4/81.
Before I forget, I would like to mention to you, dear Prof Tate, that I have just received some plants from Mr Lattorf1 near Spencers Gulf,2 whom I asked to collect. Among a considerable lot of specimens, kindly procured by him, are as new for S.A.:
Zaleya decandra, Burmann
| { | Trianthema decandra | } |
| a good genus. |
Sporobolus Lindleyi, Bth.3
All the others are well known from the interior of S.A. I will keep you posted up on any other additions, as they arrive or become examined.
A few of the Rev. Mr Kempe's I have laid aside, til the Exhib.4 work shall have closed.
What plant was it, mentioned by me, as omitted in your list some months ago? I forgot.5
Can you still spare a copy or two of the Census?6 I like to have one bound with interfoliation for corrections & additions. Thus you have not distinguished between the two Hookers always &c.
Regardfully your
Ferd. von Mueller
Among Lattorps7 plants is also the introduced Saponaria Vaccaria L.
The Rev. H. Kempe found Ventilago viminalis (Hook) on the Finke-River8 also Achyranthes australis, RBr9
