Baron

I thank you for your favour of the 3rd Instant.2 I feel grateful for the great honour you propose for me and will do my best to comply[.]3 I beg leave to enclose two sprigs or branchlets I have had lying by me and which were forgot No 1 is a shrub frequenting the Margin of "Crab Holes" and other moist places subject to floods. It is capable of growing however on very dry soil. It is much liked by Merino sheep but is not sought after by other domestic animals. No 2 is a Sandhill shrub with leaves much like Thyme. It is a sheep plant & will grow in very dry light clays and sands. The leaves always contain large quantities of water. At certain seasons sheep seem to like it much. The othe4 specimen is from a Tree that is for a long period of the year in flower and is densely leaved. It is a good shade tree and is ornamental.

I have the honor to be
