Your Calocephalus Sonderi, dear Prof. Tate, is Helipterum moschatum Benth. Your Pluchea Eyrea is Podolepis Siemsseni.1 If you have two weeks free in August, go to Kangaroo-Island,2 which is so accessible now, and may have still more endemic plants, as I have shown to exist there.3 Anyhow the localities for many rare species would be new. If you have a few days occasionally, then finish the exploration of the vicinity of Encounter-Bay.
In the Mallee on the way to Victoria may also yet be rarities. It is as well, if you keep this advise to yourself, so that you are not forestalled, and even the material perhaps came neither in your nor my hands.
I have no copy of the Rev Mr Kempe's list at hand;4 but the addenda, of which I kept notes for your census are:5
Commerconia Kempeana F.v.M.
Achyranthes aspera L Kempe
Zaleia6 decandra Burm. (Trianthema) Lk7 Torrens Lattorp8
Eucalyptus Stuartiana F.v.M. Mt Gambier (Brown)9
Ventilago viminalis, Hooker (Kempe)
Corynotheca lateriflora, F.v.M. Murray-River in S.A. (FvM) also from Kempe.
Najas major, Allioni Kempe.
Sporobolus Lindleyi Bth Lk10 Torrens Lattorp
Danthonia bipartita FvM Several places in the interior of S.A. (extratropic)
Diplachne Muelleri is also a mere Festuca11
Stipa Tuckeri, F.v.M. n. sp. Mallee-Scrub.
This is in print for the next number of the fragm.12
Regardfully your
Ferd. von Mueller.
