To Ralph Tate   24 June 1881

24/6/81.

In looking over some supplement-collections of Grasses, dear Prof Tate, I find that the following are omitted for S.A. from the country west of the Darling-River passing over the S.A boundary:1

Eriochloa annulata Hamilton.

Panicum helopus Trinius.

Panicum spinescens RBrown.

Aristida leptopoda Bentham from the Finke-River,2 (Kempe)

Setaria macrostachya from near the Glenelg River3

Eragrostis Brownii Kunth. the latter collected in S.A. by myself

Regardfully

Ferd von Mueller

Aristida leptopoda

Eragrostis Brownii

Eriochloa annulata

Panicum helopus

Panicum spinescens

Setaria macrostachya

All the plant names that follow, except the first one, are marked with a tick.
NT.
M may have made a mistake here. Setaria macrostachya is a northern plant, most unlikely to have been found near the Glenelg River, SA. In Fragmenta, vol. 8, p. 110, M noted a collection by Schulz at Port Darwin which would have provided a basis for inclusion of the species in Tate's census.
