Da ich höre, hochgeehrter Herr Doctor, dass Sie gern getrocknete exotische Wasserpflanzen annehmen, um nach anhängenden Diatomeen u Desmidieen zu spähen, so sende ich Ihnen hiermit ein Exemplar von Pistia aus der Papua Insel. Ich will Ihnen auch recht gern von hier und von anderwärts Myriophyllum, Ceratophyllum, Utricularia Arten besonders auch species von Limnanthemum senden, wenn Sie glauben, dass Sie aus solchen noch neue Formen für Ihre Studien der niedrigsten Organismen schöpfen könnten.

Since I hear, highly esteemed Doctor, that you will gladly accept dried exotic aquatic plants to look out for attached diatoms and desmids, I'm sending you herewith a specimen of Pistia from the island of Papua. I shall also gladly send you from here and elsewhere Myriophyllum, Ceratophyllum, and Utricularia species particularly, also species of Limnanthemum if you think that you could collect more new forms from them for your studies of the lowest organisms.
