From Ferdinand von Mueller to Maurice Holtze   19 Aug 1881

19/8/81.

19 August 1881.

May I ask you in particular, dear Mr Holtze, to send me leaves, bunches of flowers, and ripe fruits of the palm that occurs at the Escape Cliffs near the mouth of the Victoria River.1 I realise, of course, that you are 200 miles distant from there; yet surely an occasional opportunity should arise to obtain something from there.

I am still uncertain, too, about your palms from Port Darwin, and I also long very much for flowers from your bamboo species from the Adelaide River.2

With best greetings

Ferd. von Mueller.

Would a frond in fruit be obtainable of the tree fern that occurs near Camden Harbour3 in the valleys with the water seepage?
