From your kind letter,1 received this morning, dear Prof. Tate, I learn, that you will visit Kangaroo Island2 on the 14th. Thus it is just possible, that the enclosed msc of a Thysanotus, a plant only received yesterday may be in time for your volume yet. If not, kindly return the manuscript. I hope you got my msc. descriptions of your Hybanthus and the Calotis Kempei all right3

M's description of Thysanotus exiliflorus was published in B82.01.02, together with his description of Calotis Kempei. A description of the Hybanthus, about the systematic rank of which M appears to have been uncertain, did not appear: see n. 2 to M to R. Tate, 28 November 1881.
