From Otto Tepper to Ferdinand von Mueller   [Jan 1882]

[The circumspect Mr. Tepper alludes moreover1 to a larger kind of "lerp" to be found on Eucalyptus gracilis, E. uncinata and E. Leucoxylon; and in a letter, dated Jan. 1882, he speaks also of a coccoid insect, a species of Lecanium, which is concomitant to the viscid sweet sap under the bark of branchlets of E. viminalis and E. rostrata, ants in quest of this sweetness following the mellaginous track.]

Eucalyptus gracilis

Eucalyptus Leucoxylon

Eucalyptus rostrata

Eucalyptus uncinata

Eucalyptus viminalis

Referring to Tepper (1884).

Letter not found; The text given here is from the entry for Eucalyptus viminalis in Decade 10 of Eucalyptographia (B84.11.02), where M discusses the origins of the so-called manna associated with the species.
