In my letter about the plants that you collected with Professor Tate southeast from there, I had named the Cyperus as C. gracilis simply from the appearance. This shows again that one should not act hastily in the naming of plants, dear Mr Tepper, because on a more detailed investigation it turns out that it is C. tenellus L. fil. Both species are closely related; by the way C. gracilis is also in South Australia, namely at Lake Eyre.
How often does the Adelaide Royal Society publish and does the author receive his extra reprints right after the printing of the paper?
With best greetings
Your
Ferd. von Mueller.
Cyperus gracilis
Cyperus tenellus
