To William Thiselton-Dyer   28 March 1882

28/3/82.

I have two more species of Cycas-Amenta ♂ for you at the Photographers, dear Mr Dyer; but they had decayed on the long way, and will make bad illustrations. You shall have these photograms by next post, also one of ♂ & ♀ Macrozamia Fraseri. I will try to forward a ♂ of the latter ipsa natura1 by this post, which Mr Forest kindly sent on my request.2 So you see, that your forthcoming opus3 is not forgotten.

Both last evening late & the evening before I had as Chairman in the one case and as Patron in the other, to deliver speeches in Social (not Socialists!) meetings; so, — that has taken much of the time away, wanted for the mail, & I must therefore be brief.

Perhaps I get away to Kew by this mail the 8th Euc. Decade4 & the 11th vol. of the fragmenta; but I am not sure about the binding being done in time.

Regardfully your

Ferd von Mueller.

In the 11th vol over 3500 evascular Acotyledoneae are recorded.5
