From Frederick Gladman1    13 June 1882

Training Institution

Education Department,

Melbourne, June 13th 1882

Baron von Mueller,

You are probably aware that the study of Elementary Botany has been introduced into our Institution for training teachers. — I noticed that you, in your enthusiasm for botanical science, have prepared fascicles of pressed & dried native plants, which are available at various mechanics' institutions &c.2

If such a collection could be obtained for use by our students, it would be of great value, & I write to ask whether you can & will kindly help us in the matter.3 — I can promise that the specimens will be highly valued, & well used.

With great respect,

I remain, dear Baron von Mueller

Yours faithfully

Fredk. Jno. Gladman

Supt of Training

To Baron Ferdd von Mueller,
