To B. Daydon Jackson   27 June 1882

Would you oblige, dear Mr Jackson, by refering to Scopoli’s “Introductio ad historiam naturalem” (1777) 1 and let me kindly know whether in this work, to which I have no access, any species of Sesbania are indicated, if even only impliedly . 2

With regardful remembrance

Ferd. von Mueller. 3

Scopoli (1777).
IPNI lists no species of Sesbania formally named by Scopoli, although he is the author of the genus, the name of which has been conserved. The Library of the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne has a copy of this work inscribed ‘Baron v Müller’.
