From A. N. Grant   12 August 1882

Baron

The principal grass here is that of which I enclose a specimen[.] It does not however stand the summer well for after it seeds early in November or at latest in the beginning of December it is gone until the autumn rains unless the summer is a wet one

There is an acacia here in leaf and appearance like but electing for a hibitat the driest red clays and arid sandhills. It is not so tall by any means as acicia2 decurrens and is very prolific in Gum. It is a very pretty plant and many of them much more beautiful than others3

Dear Baron

Yours faithfully & respectfully

A. N. Grant
