September 29th 1882.
Sir,
With many and sincere thanks for your kindness, regretting at the same time that I should have occasion to trouble you, knowing the vast amount of important work devolving upon you, I have to acknowledge the receipt of your esteemed favors under dates 26th and 27th September respectively1 accompanied by Candidate's replies to Question-paper on Botany, and printer's proof sheets (corrected) of your admirable lecture on "The Flora of Australia."2
You may rely upon receiving your copies as soon as they are out of the printer's hands, and that the Council will be pleased to beg your acceptance of them seeing how much we are already indebted to you for your valuable assistance
Yours very Respectfully
Andw Berry
