I am glad of the change, made by you, dear Prof Tate, in the name of the Trymalium.1
Pomaderris is a good genus; but Trymalium passes into Cryptandra and so Spyridium.
I hope you will feel pleased with the results of your journey.2
Regardfully your
Ferd. von Mueller.

M and Tate published a description of the new Trymalium in B82.14.02 as T. Wayae in honour of the then president of the Royal Society of SA, the colony's Chief Justice, S. J. Way.
Tate, with J. Ednie Brown, had travelled to the south-east of the colony, arriving in Mt Gambier on 13 November 1882 (Border watch, 18 November 1882, p. 2).
