6/12/82.
Your letter of 29. Nov1 just reached me, dear Professor, and I feel sure, that your journey will have given many interesting results as well botanical as geological.2
In revising the supplemental Salsolaceae3 I find new for S. Austr Rhagodia Preissii,4 Yorke's peninsula (Tepper), Eucla (Richards) Youldeh & Ouldabinna (Tietkens & Young[)]. It is well marked by its calyx
Bassia tricornis Murray River5
The B. lanicuspis extends to Eyre's Creek (Kayser).6
In the new number of the fragmenta, which will yet appear this month, I have given a long additional account of Salsolaceae & have stated fully the reasons, why the older genus Bassia of Allioni should be substituted for that of Chenolea.7
Regardfully
your
Ferd. von Mueller.
Should like much to see the Wolffia. Surely Atriplex crystallinum might be found near the E. boundaries on the coast-sand, close to high-water mark!
The spec Census8 as far as Gramineae is in the printers hands, so I have only to do yet the ferns, the addenda & preface.
Atriplex crystallinum
Bassia lanicuspis
Bassia tricornis
Chenolea
Gramineae
Rhagodia Preissii
Salsolaceae
Wolffia
