[A letter was read from Baron Von Mueller, acknowledging the receipt of a collection of timbers forwarded to him by Mr. Edgar,1 for completing his collection for the Amsterdam Exhibition. He was greatly pleased with the samples, and expressed his intention of having them made up in book form like the Victorian, New South Wales, and Western Australian samples. It would help to make known the great timber resources of Queensland, as each specimen would have a label showing where it came from. If there were any expenses connected therewith he should be willing to refund the same.2 His new volume would be ready in the course of a month, when a copy would be transmitted to Mr. Edgar and Mr. Thozet, and it ought to greatly facilitate all reference to the plants in Australia.3 The Secretary was instructed to acknowledge the receipt of this.]

Internationale Koloniale en Uitvoerhandel Tentoonstelling te Amsterdam 1883 [The International, Colonial and Export Trade Exhibition of 1883 at Amsterdam]. A catalogue of the exhibition has not been found, and it is not known what M exhibited to be awarded a Diploma of honour' for an exhibit of botanical specimens &c &c.' (Internationale Koloniale en Uitvoerhandel Tentoonstelling te Amsterdam 1883 to M, 1883 (in this edition as 83-00-00a). In M to W. Carruthers, 27 August 1883 he reported that he had sent to the Amsterdam exhibition 'wood books' of his new design, which he described in M to the Gardeners chronicle, September 1883 (in this edition as 83-09-00a).
