To Ralph Tate   14 August 1883

14/8/83.

Best thanks, dear Prof. Tate, for the specimens. I could make for the first time now some notes on Zygophyllum Howittii. — About Euxolus I am not sure, as the fruit is not ripe. The Asters need a careful revision from now much augmented material. I hope soon to have leisure for giving attention to them. The Euphorbiacea = Phyllanthus rigens J.M.1 Mutanie Range2 is almost within S.A boundary.

Your Aster glandulosus is not referable to Labillard. plant. — Aster exiguifolius I must have overlooked as S.A. among the supplementary specimens of my accumulated collections of later years.

The Moss is a Funaria.

The Minuria, now received = M. Candollei var integerrima. The other Composite is Pluchea Eyrea.

You will still be in time for minute annuals during your trip next; as you have facilities to go now long distances in short time, you might get to a new bot. area inland.

Regardfully your

Ferd. von Mueller
