My dear Baron.

Many thanks for the Indian seeds which arrived in good order.

I am in a difficulty with reference to the Broad-leaved Wattle (A. pycnantha). Some of the trees have a greenish-white bark and others a dark bark. The first seem to produce a thinner bark than the other. Will you kindly let me know if there is any botanical or specific difference in the trees. I enclose specimens of flower &c. An answer at your convenience will much oblige.

Yours very truly

J. E. Brown

P.S. Mr Hooker and self start upon a visit to Forest Reserves tomorrow.
