26/9/83.
This morning, dear Prof. Tate, your plants of the last trip arrived. Eyre's Creek is the last watercourse, reached by Capt Sturt in his famous great Expedition into Central Australia. It is in Queensland but so very near the S.A. boundary, that the plants from thence count for both colonies.
Your plants are:
Oldenlandia tillaeacea, F.v.M.
Pterigeron — I have a heap of suppl. specimens to examine, on which occasion I shall revise the species. At least 3 occur in S.A.
Helipterum microglossum. Very possibly distinct from H. corymbiflorum
Podocoma: Wants critical study.
Loranthus Murrayi Needs careful comparison. Some Loranths are extraordinarily variable. The specific name I would advise to change.
Centrolepis aristata, R. &. S. var. pygmaea
Hakea. Seems quite new.
Kochia, to be examined.
Babbagia pentaptera Tate. I will dissect it carefully; very interesting indeed
Threlkeldia = Trianthema crystallina Vahl.
Phyllanthus rigens. Already in the original description (fr. ll) I alluded to the hairiness.1
Ranunculus = R. parviflorus, var
Goodenia; the spec. of difficult discrimination unless from specimens with ripe seeds.
