Dear Baron Mueller

I have just received from Mr Moore of Sydney his paper on the Macrozamia1 I wish you would let me know if you had any hand with it or is your paper on the whole order likely to come out soon. I always expected that you would give us the order worked out with your inimitable carefulness it is waiting for you and well worthy of your labors. By the bye Pink2 some time back sent you a cone which a person gave him from Mount Tambourine3 I saw it just before he sent it and told him he had better send it to you and also try to obtain a male spike and send — I have a male spike of the one at Springsure4 that you have named M. Moorei. I will send you. I have not done so before on account of having been promised another species but as that does not turn up I will send what I have —

Your much obliged

F M Bailey

P.S. I heard from our friend The Rev J E Tenison Woods at Java. I dont know if I told you or that he had written to tell you that he was going to pay a visit to his friend Governor Weld of Singapore

C. Moore (1884a); the paper was read at a meeting of the Royal Society of NSW on 5 September 1883, and evidently distributed as a pre-print soon after.
