To Adolph Leibius   3 November 1883

Melbourne,

3/11/83.

To Dr Leibius, Hon. Secr.

of the R.S. of N.S.Wales.

Herewith, honored Sir, I beg to forward to you, for completing the series of my works at the R. S. of N.S.W.

Fragm. phytogr. Austr vol. II, vol. VI.

Index ad Linnaei species plantarum1

Papuan plants I.2

Two days ago the second decade of the veg. fossils of the auriferous drifts3 was forwarded; and if the first decade4 should not be complete in the Society’s library, I could still supply an other copy. The first and third vol. of the Fragm. are no longer available directly; but I will endeavour, to obtain a copy of them in second hand book stalls; so also of the “Drawings of Australian Mosses”,5 and of the “Chatham Isl. Vegetation”.6

The second part of the “Papuan plants” is commenced; it will be some time before it is completed;7 it is hoped however, that the 9th and 10th decade of the Eucalyptography will be ready for presentation still in the course of this year.8 — An enlarged edition of the “select plants for industrial culture and naturalisation” (1881)9 would be available at the Gov. Printing Office in Sydney.

I have the honor to be, Sir, your very obedient

Ferd. von Meller.

M did not submit his distribution list for the 9th Decade of Eucalyptographia (B83.13.07) until April 1884 (see M to T. Wilson, 21 April 1884), and the final, 10th Decade (B84.13.19) did not appear until later that year.
