My dear Baron

Excuse my delay in replying and thanking you for the double sending of dried algae, those sent directly to the Navy Ministry and the others that Mr Agard from Lund1 has just sent me. Be assured of my profound gratitude for such a precious gift. At present, I have here Colonel Cesati, son of the late Baron Cesati, and he leads me to believe that the Italian Government will acquire [his] collection.

I hope you will soon succeed in your project of visiting our country, and thus to have the opportunity of thanking you personally for your courtesy towards me.

Rest assured of my respect and friendship.

Yours sincerely and affectionately,

Guillaume Acton

J. Agardh.
